Where graphic design ROI actually shows up

Graphic design is the connective tissue across every marketing channel. The same logo on your website, your business cards, your ads, your invoices, your vehicle wraps, your signage — that visual consistency drives brand recognition more than any individual asset. A well-designed business looks bigger, more established, and more trustworthy than its actual size — which directly affects pricing power and close rates.

For service businesses specifically, professional graphic design typically increases close rates 8-22% on the same lead volume. The mechanism: when comparison-shopping customers evaluate three competing service businesses, the one with cohesive professional design is perceived as the more competent operator before they ever evaluate actual service quality.

How we work

Brand-kit-driven (preferred)

If you have a brand kit (or we built one for you via our brand identity service), graphic design becomes faster and more consistent. Every asset we produce uses your defined colors, typography, and visual style — eliminating the back-and-forth of "what color should the headline be?"

Style-defining (for new brands)

If you don't have a brand kit yet, we typically recommend building one first. Producing one-off graphic designs without an underlying brand system creates inconsistency over time — your social posts look different from your business cards which look different from your ads.

Project-based vs. retainer

One-off projects (business card set, single brochure, single ad campaign) charged per project. Ongoing graphic design needs (monthly social content, regular marketing collateral, ongoing ad creative refresh) handled via monthly retainer at lower per-asset cost.

The production process

Brief intake

Every project starts with a brief: what's the asset for, who's the audience, what's the call-to-action, what's the deadline, where will it be displayed (print? web? mobile?). Specs that affect design decisions before we start designing.

Initial concepts

For most projects: 2-3 initial concept directions. You pick a direction. We refine that direction in subsequent rounds. (Some projects skip initial concepts when scope is tightly defined — e.g., "we need 8 Instagram story templates in our existing brand style" doesn't need concept exploration.)

Revisions

Standard projects include 2-3 revision rounds. Excessive revisions outside the scope of feedback ("can we try it with a completely different layout") billed at hourly rate.

Final delivery

Production-ready files in appropriate formats: vector source (AI / EPS / SVG) + rasterized exports (PNG, JPG) at appropriate sizes + print-ready PDFs (CMYK, bleed, crop marks) for print materials. Plus the underlying design source files so you have full file ownership.

Working with your printer

Print projects require coordination with the printer. We deliver print-ready files with correct bleed, color profile, and crop marks. We can recommend printers in the Baltimore area we've worked with — Allegra, Vistaprint (for low-cost basic items), Mospec (for high-quality custom), Banner Up (for signage + large format).

Pricing

  • Business card set — $199-499 depending on complexity (single design vs. multi-person team)
  • Single flyer or brochure — $349-899 depending on length + complexity
  • Single ad creative set (Meta/Google) — $499-1,499 for 4-8 variations
  • Monthly retainer — Starter — $899/month for up to 12 assets per month
  • Monthly retainer — Standard — $1,799/month for up to 25 assets per month + monthly strategy review
  • Custom large project — quote-based. Vehicle wraps, trade show booths, full marketing campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before getting started

Standard single projects: 5–7 business days. Larger projects (sales decks, brochures): 10–14 business days. Rush turnaround available at 50% premium when timeline allows.

Per-project pricing includes 2 rounds of revisions. Additional rounds: $75/hour. Most clients land in 1–2 rounds when the brief is clear; multi-round revisions usually mean the brief needed more upfront work.

Print materials: print-ready PDF (CMYK, bleed, crop marks). Digital materials: PDF, PNG, JPG. Source files (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) included with all projects — you own the source files.

Yes — if you have a brand guidelines document we work from it. Without guidelines, we ask for 2–3 examples of existing brand materials and replicate the visual language. If your brand is inconsistent or undefined, we recommend starting with our Logo & Brand Identity service first.

Design only. We provide print-ready files and can recommend printers we've worked with (local Baltimore print shops, national online printers like Moo or Vistaprint). Printing prices vary widely; we help you choose based on quantity and quality needs.

Per-project: pay per piece, no monthly commitment, slower turnaround during high-demand periods. Monthly retainer: priority queue, faster turnaround, predictable costs, scoped quantity per month. Most businesses with 4+ design projects per month save money on the retainer.

Yes. We've designed for medical/dental, legal, financial services, real estate, restaurants, home services, B2B, e-commerce. Each industry has compliance constraints (HIPAA for medical, state bar rules for legal, FINRA for financial). We follow them; we don't accept work in cannabis, firearms, or adult industries.

Yes — booth graphics, backdrops, pop-up displays, table covers, retractable banners, handout collateral. Trade show projects are typically scoped together and quoted as one engagement.

Yes for retail products. We design label artwork, box graphics, dieline-compliant packaging. We don't do structural packaging design (dieline engineering) — that's typically done by your manufacturer. We work alongside their structural designs.

We have a portfolio site separate from this domain. We send relevant case studies during the discovery call once we understand what kind of design you need (different work samples for medical-collateral vs. e-commerce-product vs. B2B-deck).

We can provide both or work with copy you supply. Design + copy projects priced 30–50% higher than design-only because the copywriting effort is real. For longer-form content (brochures, case studies, white papers), see our Content Writing service.

$3,500/month gets you one designer working approximately 40 hours/month on your projects exclusively. You set the priorities and timing; they execute. Best for businesses with consistent design volume rather than burst projects. Most clients on this tier are agencies, e-commerce brands, or growing service businesses with strong design needs.

Graphic design retainer pricing starts at $899/month for our Starter package (up to 12 assets per month) and goes up to $1,799/month for Standard (up to 25 assets per month + monthly strategy review). Individual graphic design projects priced per project — business cards $199-499, single flyer $349-899, single ad creative set $499-1,499.

We produce graphic design across marketing collateral (business cards, brochures, flyers, signage, vehicle wraps), digital marketing assets (social graphics, email templates, ad creative, display ads, infographics), and internal materials (pitch decks, sales sheets, training documents).

Yes — all our graphic design uses your brand kit (logo variations, colors, typography, photography style) for visual consistency across every asset. If you don't have a brand kit yet, we recommend building one first via our brand identity service before committing to graphic design retainer work.

Standard graphic design projects include 2-3 revision rounds. Initial concepts presented, feedback gathered, revisions made. Excessive revisions outside the original brief ("can we try a completely different layout") billed at hourly rate to keep project pricing fair.

Graphic design turnaround depends on project type. Single business card design: 5-7 business days. Single flyer or brochure: 7-10 business days. Single ad creative set (4-8 variations): 5-7 business days. Monthly retainer assets: 2-5 business days per asset depending on complexity.
